Had to change starter

I drove to my buddies house, camper on the truck, go to start itand Zing, tryed it again, same noise. so I crawl under and what do I see? the cas alumnum cover oer the starter throw outgear is broken. clear in two. Dad happened to have a starter at home, but I WAS ale to get it off without taking off my dynamax header, but man, what a slow down when I was wanting to go camping....
