Man I'M havin fun now!!

Just took advantage of some warm Michigan winter weather (28 degrees) and took my first test drive after some changes to my stepside. I pulled the 3.90 grears out and put in a set of 3.38s. I also installed power streering and a tilt column and a smaller steeringwheel. Its sure nice not having to strong arm it around corners anymore. If any of you make it to Detroit Autorama stop and say hello. I'll have my truck down stairs at our club (Nightmares) display.

Nice! Sounds great! You can't beat power steering.

Very nice truck!
Did you have any trouble getting your new diff gears set up properly.?
(I'm swapping in a '72 posi unit and don't want to hear any unpleasant noises from the rear end) Any suggestions to share from that experience? Thanks.

Congrats on all your new mods. That power steering makes for a sweet drive. Before I converted, parking lots were a nightmare.

The 60-62 has a GM55T rearend. It has a removable center section (pig) unlike most GM rears. Its more like a Ford 9" in that respect. Randy's Ring & Pinion ( http://www.ringpinion.com/ ) has very good instructions. I had a buddy with lots of rearend experience set it up for me. So no problems for me. Its quiet as a church mouse!

The HAMB meet and greets will be at our club display area every day. Hope to see you then. Bronners Christmas store is up I75 about 75 miles from Detroit in Frankenmuth. Thats near where Donzie and I live. Its a HUGH store so be prepated to stay a while.
Sorry to hear about your job situation. Hope that works out OK.

I bought everything from REZ so if there was a problem I would only have to deal with one supplier. It was pretty straight forward except the power steering pump they sent was defective and had to be returned. My truck had the old style front motor mount that had to be replaced by the side frame mount type so the power steering brackets would work. Here are some pictures.
