2 - 6 cylinder line questions
Added some stuff this weekend
1) Where does the vacuum line on the air cleaner connect to (coiled beside snorkle in picture) - one to actuator on snorkle and the other to....??? 2)What gets connected to the large port on the riser from the carb? (would it be a line from port (just under the end of the snorkle in the picture) at the front part of the valve cover where I have a little breather now)? As always, Thanks for any input!

Re: 2 - 6 cylinder line questions
I'll have to check on the vacuum line, but the large line on the riser goes to a hole in the valve cover on the left front. This is an old pic before I did the air cleaner swap. The older pic is from a board member some time ago, can't remember who. Hope he doesn't mind sharing it.

Re: 2 - 6 cylinder line questions
Cool, that's what I thought on the large one. Now to figure out the little one - it goes from the snorkle module, up under the air cleaner to the temp sensor in there, off the temp sensor and back out to ?????
One question for you Botie, at the top rear of the valve cover, you have a very long hose going to the port beside the carb. Why is it so long? (the one on mine is only about 14")

Re: 2 - 6 cylinder line questions
And here's the Haynes description of how it works.
http://www.haynes.com/files/product/13.10210sp.pdf btw. My GMC truck did not have the same setup but I believe it's because it was a 68. I've been thinking of trying to find the stock breather and convert it to the way it was. |

Okay, one more time. Of all places Auto Zone has the best explanation for the Thermac System. Shows where the hoses go and how they're connected. Check it out... You can click the pics to enlarge.

Re: 2 - 6 cylinder line questions
Auggie, I found those brackets in a salvage yard. They are from a 250 engine and the compressor is a NAPA Reman for the '71 250 engine. Thanks for the comments!
