My 67 at the SF Rod, Custom, and Motorcycle Show

Hi All,

Thursday, January 10, was setup day at the Cow Palace, starting at 10:00am. I woke up around 7:00am, and it was raining. I only have a flatbed style trailer, and I had already spent two days cleaning and detailing the truck from top to bottom. Spent a good 3 hours laying on a creeper cleaning the frame...
Suppose to leave around 10:00, two of my friends, my wife and my boy are waiting for me to pull the truck out of the garage. I keep saying the rains gonna stop, I can feel it....

I can feel it?!?! I am no weatherman, so I pull the truck out into the rain and we load it up on the trailer, and then off to San Francisco. Got there, and unloaded the truck and drove in into the hall and got my spot. We rolled out the diamond plate rubber garage flooring, and part the truck on it. We had to dry the truck, then did a wax, repolish chrome/aluminum, and clean the windows, then wipe the tires and flooring clean and we were done in about 1-1/2 hours.

Hung out there friday night, most of the day Saturday, and the end of Sunday. There were not very many trucks enter in the show, and because of the number of different classes, pretty much everyone got a placement award of some kind. I was able to take FIRST PLACE in the Mild Late PickUp catagory. I wished there was more competition there, but, none the less, they did review my truck and accept it for the show, and I will gladly take a first place award. Here are a couple of pictures. The last one is for Josh,

Something to be mighty proud of. I think it takes something pretty special just to make it in the door.... Congrats.

Also, thanks for your contributions to the board....

Sorry I missed you John, but my whole family has that darned virus thing going around here. El Jay (my cousin you met when I saw you at the Good Guys) made it there and saw your rig, but you were away.

Congrats.

Very nice truck. Hate when you work to clean one up to have to tavel through a rain storm going to the show. Well at least you didn't have to drive it.
Congrates on the win!
Don't matter how many trucks are there you got the prize!

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Congrats on your win!

Been there, done that. Spent days detailing one only to have to load it in a torential downpour. After a few of those you start to question the value of it all.

Personally the glory has faded away, and I stick with out door shows in nice weather these days.
