New From Minnesota
Hi all, I have been reading for a while now and I am excited to have a group that I can bounce things off of. I have been working on my very first project now for 2 years. I have had no experience working on my own vehicles until this project. I always wanted to build older truck for a daily driver. I chose a 1971 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4. I have done a lot of reading and jumped in with both feet to get it going. I have replaced the floor pans, cab corners, inner and outer rockers, cab supports, new fuel tank behind the axle and working on a 4" lift now. I am getting ready to fire it up and wanted to know is there anything I should do to protect the engine before I turn it over? Thanks for any help you can give this MN Rooky

Welcome from Brookings, SD. If you can, I would prime the oil pump before you start the engine.
