Blazer Tank Gas Line

I put a blazer tank in my truck 8 years ago using rubber gas line to run from my tank to my fuel pump on the block. From reading on the board I have found out that is not the best set up for safety and reliability. I found a deal on some aluminum gas line for $25. I was wondering if it would work for my application? Here is the add and a picture. What do you guys think?

Aluminum fuel line and misc fittings. This line has never been used and is still in the original box, sold by Mallory back in the day. Come with a few misc Russel fittings to help get the job done. I don't remember how long the line is but I would guess at least 10 plus feet. And it looks like it might be 1/2"

Re: Blazer Tank Gas Line

that is about what it costs from a place like summit//i'd just use 3/8" diameter line its more than enough foir most street applications

Re: Blazer Tank Gas Line

I used steel line on mine and ran it down the frame rail ,I did use rubber line to connect to tank to steel line but only about 6" and 3" to the pump.I got it all for under $10

Re: Blazer Tank Gas Line

Thanks guys. I will definitely pass then. I haven't priced this stuff out to know a good deal when I see it, but this is obviously not for my truck. What would be the best to use, aluminum, steel, or stainless. Stainless sounds good but I need to check how much it will cost first. At $10 bucks maybe steel is my best bet. Has any one done this in stainless and could tell me the cost and how many 3/8" lengths I will need?

Re: Blazer Tank Gas Line

If you live in an area with 10% ethanol then don't run aluminum anywhere in the fuel delivery system. It corrodes the aluminum. E85 is obviously even worse.

Re: Blazer Tank Gas Line

I used 3/8" line from Napa. The lengths had fittings pre-installed on each end so I just used the brass butt connectors and ran lines down the inside of the frame rail. I think I used two 4' sections and one 2' of the hard line then short sections of rubber from the tank to the line and then again rubber from the line to the fuel pump. For the rubber sections get the fuel line approved for fuel injection, I am told it is much better than the regular hose.

Re: Blazer Tank Gas Line

i would stay away from the aluminum lines. unless your truck is a full blown race-truck. they can dent and kink much easier from wear and tear and i have been told that they are prone to cracking, especially around the flare if you are using fittings. 3/8 steel is what i use, cheap, available. you could use stainless but remember stainless is harder to bend up than steel, unless it is anealed stainless steel tubing. unless you want polished ss lines for show, i would just get steel. but whatever floats your boat. good luck.
