I'm not sure if anyone remembers or not but I had to sell my 72 for the down payment on a house. Well, I recently acquired an 87 Ford Bronco (cheap) and joined a Bronco forum. I have to tell you, THIS is the best forum by far!! I am new to Fords so I asked a lot of questions. You can't post any type of comment or question on the Bronco forum without getting bashed. It seems no one wants to help and all they want to do is tell you to "search". I had just the opposite happen when I joined this forum. Just to let you know, my neighbor has a 72 shortbed sitting in his field I'm going to try to get and as soon as I get this Bronco running I am going to sell it. I can't wait to get a Chevy truck again!!! Once again, this forum is awesome!!

Re: Other Forums

Yep, There are a lot of other forums that are far from being user friendly. They're like bullies on a schoolyard. It seems that you ask one question and you're barraged with "use the search feature!". And it's not just once! Sometimes a half dozen or more users want to jump on and type the same thing the previous poster did "Search NOOB!". It seems like if it was that easy, that they would perform the search themselves and post a link for the new user along with a statement like "A quick easy search turned this up. You should try it next time". This would be MUCH more helpful than being verbally abusive. Sometimes people let the anonimity of a message board get the best of them and say things that they would never say while talking face to face. Hands down, this is the best forum I'm a member of!

Back when I was into imports I was a member of a Mitsubishi forum. People would swear at you and ridicule you for asking "noob questions" It's nice to have a place to hang out full and friendly and helpful people.

Couldn't agree more. I'm a relative noob, and have been doing tons of research before I get back to NC to start working on my truck. The only time I felt odd about a few responses to a post of mine was when I asked what the asshat club was!

I agree. I am a member of couple different Camaro boards for my Z28, a couple of Diesel boards, an ATV board and several college football boards and this is the best board of all of them. There is truly a community/almost family feel to it, and all of the board members I've met have been great people.

This is my first rebuild of any type of vehicle. The support and advice you get is the best even when you ask rookie questions. Someone always guides you through!

Re: Other Forums

This forum, any forum is what the members make of it. This one is great. Hasn't always been but it's better now and that's because most of the mouthy ones have moved on. For the most part this forum runs smoothly and I, for one, appreciate that. Everybody reach over your left shoulder, or right, and pat yourselves on the back. I too come in to turn on the 'puter first thing to see what new posts are here. And pictures. Man! There has to be more pics posted here than any other forum, hands down and everybody loves pics. I've got quite a few saved for future reference and just plain viewing.

Oh, and those ford guys? They don't have any class!

That's strange, no one does that, I hardly ever visit the board.

(Yeah right, my wife says I spend too much time on the board and either I'm nuts or have a online girlfriend.)

Re: Other Forums

i think c-30 said it right it is more of a community, I too am member of the Br@nc@ forum as my daily is a 96 OJ special.
and i am a member of numerous other forums, artairconcepts,hotrodders,layitlow,ls1,dfwstangs,HAMB, WOW come to think of it i am a member to over 20 so i wont add them all. But i always come to this site first then i wonder off after i have spent a couple of hours here.
the others are more like a place for people to vent or just brag. this site is both informative and friendly.

I have always loved the 67 - 72 ford F series trucks, they were IMO the best looking truck ford ever made, and with the exception of the twin I beam crap, and the rust prone shock towers/whole front body support, they were well built trucks too. I was actually looking for one to buy when I got my first 67 - 72 chevy.

Re: Other Forums

I had a Celica for a while, and found a forum for Celica people. It became obvious pretty quickly that I was out of place....a bit too old for the ricers and their attitudes. Doesn't mean that there weren't nice people, helpful people, etc., on there, because there are. I just found that I was out-of-place, like a nun at a Hooter's.
