I went to look at a 64 today

It was in Placerville and he is asking $600 for it. No engine and the 4 speed tranny is sitting on the passenger seat. I passed on it seeing there are some small rust issues and plus all he has is a bill of sale. I would have to get a trailer to tow it also so by the time I was done with gas and all it would probably be about $800, then i have to put an engine in it. There was some bad body work done on the bed. The bondo was about an 1" thick in the rear. Here you can see my ugly face with the truck behind me and yes it was snowing.. And yes it has a 62 front grill on it. I might call him back over the weekend and offer him $400 for it but i dought it..

Re: I went to look at a 64 today

Now put that wonderfull pic of you on the "we seen your trucks, now what do you look like" thread I started !!!!

That sucks about the truck...

I just realized you went to Placerville...there was some guy selling a bunch of 60-66 truck parts...same guy ??

He had a floor tranny cover pan for me...If you go back out there, let me know.

I guess Frisco is closer than Placerville !

Re: I went to look at a 64 today

The floors were rusted but not all the way through. The right side was worse and the rocker panel was going. I was able to stick my screwdriver through a part on the right side. The part that really depressed me was the dash. I guess I would not have to say anymore about that but lets just say one of the owners was drill and saw happy and not very good with either tool.

Why do people feel the need to drill holes in things? I had eight holes in the outer rear cab panel, fourteen holes in the rear interior cab panel and about eight holes in the dash for who the hell knows what. It's gonna take days to fix this. Makes me freakin nuts!

I moved to AZ to avoid that snow!!!! I have only worn pants 1 time in the last 6 years......shorts are standard gear!!

I think I would skip the truck unless it has good parts for something you are already working on.

LOL, I hope to be doing both of those things in the next month! If my truck was anything like my Impala or Monte, I wouldnt do it. But its WAY past being "all original" so what the he!!
