Question on the 50th models

I searched and didnt see anything but Im pretty sure I saw the answer to this quite awhile back...

Did Chevy make 50th vans and burbs also? How bout stepsides? Ive seen vans in the gold and white paint scheme, but I don't think Ive seen a burb or a stepside. I don't see how they could even make a matching paint on a stepside...maybe just a white roof?

There has been a lot of 50th threads lately, it just made me curious about what else Chevy did that year.

Re: Question on the 50th models

yep.
It could be had on any truck or van.
I have a pic of a van on my hard drive.... but this POS computer won't recognise that hard drive.

Re: Question on the 50th models

I've seen the color combo on a few passenger vans but don't recall seeing it on a cargo van.I've also seen the colors on a 'burb but don't recall a blazer or step.I have no idea if any were actually 50th's or not but I believe it was the only way to get the color combo.

It would be cool to see a 50th Burb. I've never seen one.

Re: Question on the 50th models

the burbs were just gold with a fawn int if i remember correct... they were kinda lame compaired to the trucks and vans.
The vans looked sweeter than anything.
I have never seen in person, nor on line, an elky, not stepside, but the books say any truck...

Direct quote from "Communication Central - A Professional Service for Chevrolet Retail Management Play the Chevrolet Truck Anniversary Game - To Win More Sales!...To attract attention, kick off the Golden Anniversary celebration by displaying several of the gold-and-white specials on the showroom floor and on outside display. For example, two gleaming vans, four sparkling pickups and a dazzling El Camino are sure to grab public attention."

50th Anniversary EL CAMINO...WTF? Something else I am going to have to add my collection!

Just one more example of the depth of knowledge of Longhorn Man...LOL!

That's too bad. They would look sweet with the same scheme as the trucks and all the trim.

Re: Question on the 50th models

SWEEEEET!!!!!!
The stupid hard drive was just unplugged!
Of course, I discover this AFTER 45 min searching the web, and also an ex-member's history (68suburban, chris, he had a 50th burb) but all his pics are gone, and I found NOTHING on the web.
These are the only two pics I found on my HD. I thought i had more.
Can anyone come up with an Elky?

Re: Question on the 50th models

From the 1968 Chevrolet Dealers Price & Facts Book
It states, Annaiversary Gold Available on all 1968 light duty trucks!

Available on Pickup models equipped with Custom Comfort (Z62)
or Custom Sport Truck (Z84) and/or Bucket seats (A50).
Fleetside models require Custom Side Molding (B98)
(So if you did not order (z62) or (cst z84) you had to at least have the bucket seat option if you wanted Anniversary Gold truck.)

Suburban, Panel & Chevy-Van Anniversary models have Fawn interior.
Deluxe Sportvan gets Parchment/Gold interior

The $ cost....

Series G10 Chevy-Van... .......... $42.00
G10 SportVan ................$41.10

Series C10 Fleetside Pickups ..... $49.50
C10 Stepside .................$31.25

Series C10 Suburban................ $30.55

Re: Question on the 50th models

So...are all trucks this color (anniversary gold) 50th's...?

I see a few trucks around my area this color.
Are they all anniversary models if they have this color or could you get a non-anniversary "gold" truck?
or are they a 50th's only if equipt with:
Custom Comfort (Z62) or Custom Sport Truck (Z84) or Bucket seats (A50)
Or....this saying you could only get this color if equipt with at least one of the above...
So, the option equipt on the truck allowed for the color and you could not get the color unless equipt with one of the 3 listed options.
So... (follow me here, I'm thinking out loud) You could not/will not find a non-CST, non-Cutom, non-bucket seat equipt Gold truck ??????????? Right ?
Or...Ok... what makes it a 50th.... the Color, the Color combo, or the Z62,Z84, or A50... Was "50th" denoted anywhere?

Is this also saying that the color of gold is Anniversary gold... like "torch red" or "sunset orange" or is it celebrating the 50th year of building Chevy trucks (1918).
Did this color come on GMC's...
Man I JUST got interested in this 50th thing...

Re: Question on the 50th models

that explains why the one I was looking at locally 6 months ago or so wasn't a Z-84 or a Z-62... that was questioned on here.

any ideas on how they could've done a 50th stepside? I'm really digging the medium gold and white color scheme.
