Re: Opinions on this tailgate treatment...
Lose the indentation? I kinda like the look of the indentation on the truck gates, but it might work well on you Blazer with the top on.
Tough call. There's a fine line between custom/clean/smooth and plain. Maybe post some with and without for comparison. |

Re: Opinions on this tailgate treatment...
I gotta agree with FF on this one, I think the indentation sets our trucks/blazers apart from new trucks with flat tailgates.

Re: Opinions on this tailgate treatment...
I really like it. My gate is smooth with out the "CHEVROLET" and I wish it wasn't.

How did ya do it ? Did ya just remove the molding and fill in holes or mold in the moldings?

Re: Opinions on this tailgate treatment...
my opinion;
it doesnt look right unless it is a two tone paint job (the bottom right). maybe best done with the tail light treatment like the one on the bottom left. |

Re: Opinions on this tailgate treatment...
I think it only looks good with the contrasting lettering. Just indents looks like it is not finished.

Re: Opinions on this tailgate treatment...
I really like it! Since there's 4 trucks like that... is this a "new" after market style gate or is it just a coincidence that they all had the same custom work done?

Re: Opinions on this tailgate treatment...
you could mate a Sir Micheals smooth tailgate (which looses the big indention) and the original so that you get chevrolet across the back to get this look...right????? that is what i was going to attempt???
or do they sell it smooth with a "chevy" logo already in them??

Re: Opinions on this tailgate treatment...
These are the skins Mar-K sells for just the indent, no need for a full skin if your just going to cut it to keep the letters

Re: Opinions on this tailgate treatment...
Gates are overrated, as far as stock goes. Smooth,w/o the indention looks ok. I can go with or w/o the emboss letters. Go for it!!!!

Re: Opinions on this tailgate treatment...
I like the truck from Kentucky. The one-piece appearing tail light lenses are nice, but not what I'd do. To lose the indentation that locates the handle is okay, but leaving the CHEVROLET has to be done. The character line that is in line with the top of the tail lights is important to the overall appearance of the body.
If you like it, go for it.
