z61 and z62 options
I have looked everywhere and have not found any information on the codes to my 63 truck. It has the Z61 and Z62 options and I do not know what equipment came with these options. With a stepside too. Help please!

Z61-Custom Appearance Option includes: 1. Bright metal (silver anodized aluminum) radiator grille 2. Bright metal (chromed stainless steel) windshield molding 3. Steering wheel with chromed half-circle horn ring 4. Chrome-trimmed instrument panel knobs 5. Two-tone interior front door & wall panels 6. Bright metal (silver anodized aluminum) body side molding 7. Trim plate for dispatch box door Z62 - Custom Comfort Option includes: 1. Left armrest 2. Right sunshade 3. Right door lock 4. Chromed cigar lighter 5. Nylon and vinyl upholstery 6. Special insulation This information is verbatim from the 1963 Chevrolet Truck Data Book. I hope it is helpful in determining the options of your '63 Chevy Truck. To determine if your truck equipped at the factory with a stepside or fleetside bed, the Model identification number, on your title, will read as follows: C1404 (2wd, 1/2 ton, 114" wheel base-swb, stepside bed) C1504 (2wd, 1/2 ton, 127" wheel base-lwb, stepside bed) If your truck came off the line with fleetside bed the 04 would be a 34. |

Re: z61 and z62 options
Thanks a bunch! This is very helpful! It is c1404. I have never seen a stepside with side chrome before, until this one. Didn't know they made them. What is this: 5. Two-tone interior front door & wall panels So I guess it didn't have a left armrest for 63? I thought maybe someone changed the passenger door panel. I guess not. Thanks again!

Re: z61 and z62 options
It refers to the door panels...the panel will have an accent color in the depressed band around the perimeter of the door panel. My understanding of armrests, are the driver side armrest is an option, as well as, the passenger side armrest was an option, so some trucks had none, driver side only or driver and passenger side...not passenger side only.
I have a few stepside trucks with side chrome molding trim, but on the cab only, not the stepside bed. Last edited by LILRED66; 02-15-2008 at 10:14 AM. |
