Manifold & W/P taps....
Hey guys, I know this might need to be in the engine/performance section but I like kats in this thread. Besides the motor is going in a 65'! I was wondering about tapping the water return and heater holes on the intake manifold and water pump, can I just go to the hardware store and get matching plugs out of the plumbing section? I dont have a heater core anymore and the only hole I need is for my temp sensor so I should be fine yah?

Re: Manifold & W/P taps....
Do you mean capping the inlet and outlet openings in the intake manifold and the water pump. All of my engines have in inlet and outlet hoses running through the water pump and intake. If so, you can remove the threaded fittings at each location and insert a threaded plug of correct size in its place.
You can also remove the heater box and hoses from the engine bay and install heater delete plates over the openings in the firewall. They are available as a factory option and I see them on eBay from time to time, if you want a factory look. Last edited by LILRED66; 02-13-2008 at 11:48 PM. |
