magnaflow with leaf springs Question
I am looking to put new exhaust on my truck and I like magnaflow but I looked at their website and it says (coil rears). I did a search and found some good stuff but no one with leaf spring rear. I don't see how it could be that different and I am not opposed to doing some BFH adjustments. My concern is that it will be way off or be a big pain and I would be better just doing custom exhaust. Pictures would be great.

Re: magnaflow with leaf springs Question
I just did a search for the new Thrush system that came out recently for our trucks but it's also for coil spring only according their site.

Re: magnaflow with leaf springs Question
Well, your leaf spring truck is wide open inside the rails, whereas the coil truck has to route the pipes around/over the trailing arms. I dont think you will have any trouble hanging a ex system for a coil truck on your leaf sprung truck(it just might have a few bends that you wouldnt need to have) for your app.The shock mounts are a little different, & you may need to "play with " the hangers. crazyL

Re: magnaflow with leaf springs Question
I think the problem is more where the pipe exit the out the sides just past the fenders behind the rear tire. I think there would be interference how the pipe exits.

Re: magnaflow with leaf springs Question
Yea, it might be an issue around the rear spring hangers.....I like to run em straight out the butt end(sounds better IMO). crazyL

Re: magnaflow with leaf springs Question
I have no idea on price. I found it in the April 2008 edition of Classic Trucks on page 24 at the bottom. 66-72 GM trucks is part #89027. Complete 2.5" slip fit, bolt on with all pipes, muffs and hardware.

Re: magnaflow with leaf springs Question
I think I will throw caution to the wind and buy the kit. I guess worst case I will have to fab the rear exits to go straight out. That is the way mine is now and I prefer it straight out the back under the bumper. Thanks for the help guys.
