steering column swap question......
hey guys...
i have a couple of questions about doing a column swap on my 72 auto c10 i already installed a ratchet shifter (floor mount) so i want to clean up the look of the dash by replacing mine with a manual floor shift column. i have access to an early floor shift column in decent shape... so.... 1. can i swap my column shift column to the floor shift manual column directly? 2. i'm pretty sure the fit wont be a problem right? 3. is the column harness the same on 67-68 columns as mine? 4. if not does someone make an adapter? 5. are the wires color coded the same? 6. or should i try to solder and make my own adapter harness any input would be appreciated!! thanks guys! eric

Re: steering column swap question......
you really should not have any fitment problems what so ever. i put a 71 manual collumn in my 60 with out any fitment problems. the harness connector should be about the same, but if not i think that you should beable to splice your harness connector from your "old" collumn to your "new" collumn. if you have any questions as to which color is what let me know and i'll take a look through my books at the schematics as well as the collumn on both of mine.

Re: steering column swap question......
If you are swapping from truck to truck then they all swap out with no real problems. Its when you use a van column that there are a few differences that have to be delt with.
