Power booster vacuum 235 I6?
Ok I have the booster mounted and spindles and rotors. Where can I tap off for the vaccum? Thinking about using the vacuum port form carb where the vacuum advance comes off. I need thoughts and Ideas please.
Thanks... |

ON a 216 you can just tap off the vacuum conn for the wipers on the intake.

Any place off of the intake manifold is fine, you want full vacuum to the booster
at all times. If there is a large nipple off of the base of your carb you can use/tap into that as well.

There should be a tap on the side of the intake which will give you the most vacuum for your brakes.

Re: Power booster vacuum 235 I6?
Fred,
That is where I wanted to go. But the plug has been in there since 61 when it was new and well even with some heat applied I'm afraid that it's going to strip out or crack. It's a tight SOB. So I was thininking about tapping off the vaccum port at the base of the carb where the advance for the distributor goes. I expect that it would not affect timing to tap off at that point as well. |

Ok I got the same problem, but I have an Edelbrock 1406 on top of a Weiland manifold, where do I hook up the booster, cause there is no port behind the carb.

There is a port on the intake. Looking from the front of the engine, it is behind the carb on the left. You probably have a plug in the hole. You can go to the hardware store and buy plumbing fittings.
