How to remove fuel from tank
I hooked up a electric pump to the pick up and nothing happens, I put a line down the filler neck to the pump and still nothing. Do I need to prime the pump? I woud like to use this to get the fuel through a filter to reuse fuel.

(LOL) just funnin here but the way I remove the fuel from my tank is to STEP ON THE PEDAL !!!!!!!!

Are you sure there is fuel to be pumped out ?
Make sure you have it connected to the outlet line and not the vent. Test the pump with a known source such as a mason jar full-o-gas to rule out a bad diaphram or rotary vane in the pump itself.

these tanks are easy to pull out, when i took mine out a fe months ago i just took it out, and dumped the fuel out into a gas can w/ a funnel in it.
might be harder if it all the way full of fuel tho |

Disconnect the fuel line at the fuel pump and let it drain into a gas can.

Theres only one tube coming out of the tank, and a small screw which I believe is the sending unit. If I could just pick up the tank and tip it, I would but has at least ten galllons that I could figure and it is sitting on the flooor.

I tryed using a 12v inline pump attached to the outlet line on my`92 diesel side-mount tank (facing front downhill) and got nothing.I had about 18 gallons in there.Then,I attached a long piece of fuel line and stuffed it down into the tank all the way up front (lowest point) and it sucked it all out.There may have been a qt. left in there.But,to remove those tanks,it`s easiest to pull the bed.That`s the only way I`d even try it.But,I have a steel Reading work cap w/ladder rack (1,000#approx.).That`s the only reason I didn`t pull the tank.I`d just pull the seat and yank the tank.
