Re: Boyd Coddington, Dead. RIP

I would have hated to work for the guy. Pero, he had great vision on most of his builds and I enjoyed most all of his creations/projects. Sad to see him go, if he really went.

Tons of news on it, nationwide: http://news.google.com/news?sourceid...oyd+coddington

This thread should be moved to "General Discussion" forum, though.

Re: rip boyd coddington

http://jalopnik.com/361391/boyd-codd...dead-at-age-63

World-renowned tuner and hot rod king Boyd Coddington died at 6:20 am this morning. The cause of death is still unknown. Coddington, founder of Boyds Wheels and designer of prize-winning custom cars, had recently been hospitalized twice for an undisclosed medical condition. Although he was though to be in recovery, rumors of his untimely death began circulating today throughout the forums. A spokesperson for Boyd Coddington's corporation has confirmed to Jalopnik that those rumors are true. The company will be releasing a statement later today

many did not like him... but a terrible loss for the automotive enthusiasts. thoughts n prayers with his family

Re: rip boyd coddington

he has been in there since the beginning of Jan. My boss and him were best friends and buisness partners. My boss has the number 1 Boydster. sold it to Boyd last Nov. and then bought it back 3 weeks ago.

It really is sad, I had spoke to him on several occasions. Really nice guy.

Re: rip boyd coddington

Sad to see such an icon go. He was still quite young.

I know he was somewhat the center of controversy for quite a while, but he did produce some nice looking rides. I could have done without the TV Show as I don't think it portrayed him or his work in the best way.

Re: rip boyd coddington

His style was either a love it or hate it type of thing ... but there is no denying the fact the guy was a pioneer in the custom car building industry.

I was lucky enough to meet the man in Louisville, KY at a NSRA Nationals and he seemed to be a genuinely nice guy.

Prayers and well wishes go out to his family.
