First time trying to post pics. Not great pics but can get more later. Thanks Bouncy for the reply on Seat Belts. Anybody else have ideas on mounting shoulder belts? My daughter will be driving this and I want it to be as safe as possible. There are threads that claim S10 belts are a good option. Where are they mounted? Thanks also to everyone who responded to my Highlander dilemma with their opinions.

Nice looking truck. Which one is your daughter going to be driving? Hopefully not the lifted one.

Make sure you explain to her the laws of physics when driving a top-heavy vehicle around corners and how heavy trucks take far longer to stop than small cars, thus the NEED to leave extra room between you and the vehicle in front of you.

A lot of guys have gone to seats with integrated seat belts.

I'm going to send the white one to college with her and then restore it when she's done. The red one was her High School ride. She's more conservative than me and definitely more responsible. She's been driving since she was 8 hauling trailer loads of horses and cattle on the ranch and understands following/braking distance. She's 18 and 3 years away from her Masters in mechanical engineering with speacialization in explosives so she knows the physics end of it too. Last time she rode in the white Blazer she was riding in a baby seat. I'm proud of her, as I am my other 2 daughters, but I wouldn't want either of them driving that red one. They are more the type to see how effective the rollbar is.

I also thought that I had seen threads that indicated that significant reinforcement to seat mounting was necessary if seats with integral belts were used. Is that the consensus? Also, I was trying to stay with orignal seats in the white one.

You've got a smart one there! A far cry from my 17 year old nephew who has been in and out of juvenile detention, half-way houses, and kicked out of the special school for troubled boys all before announcing yesterday he got his 16 year old girlfriend pregnant.

Anyway, I think most guys who install the integrated seat belt seats reinforce the floor, but that is way beyond my knowledge and technical skills.

Those are some great looking K5's!

I used seats with the integral seatbelts in my 69 K20 and reinforced the floor but the way I did it wouldn't work too well in a K5. If you go the link in my sig you will find a subpage concerning the interior of my K20 with pics of my reinforcements.
