What motor mounts are you using? And what all do I need to get that motor in a 81-87 and get it running? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am using S&P mounts for my LS motor.
You need a harness and supply/return lines.

By S&P you mean street and performance, Do they weld in or bolt in? So I dont need anything special to make it work.

This was the other place:
http://www.brphotrods.com/Truck%20LS1.html

They are comparable to the natural ones S&P have in price.

Re: ?s for people with 5.3 engine

What about tranny crossmember, driveshaft, hooking it up to the gauges, and possibly everything I could possibly run into while installing this?

I have a spread sheet I made while doing my build. Wasted Income on this site gave me his build spread sheet, and I used his to get me rolling. If you would like a copy of it, send me a PM with your email addy and I'll send it your way.

A link to my build is in my sig.

ps, I got my engine adaptors from Summit for like $45. And just moved my old cross member back, and drilled new holes.

If you don't have your engine, try to either get a wrecked truck, or a COMPLETE pull out. If you have the harness that can save you money when having it reworked vs buying a new one.

Re: ?s for people with 5.3 engine

I made my own mounts, for free. Gotta love access to a CNC plasma and a bridgeport.

Anyways, I made mine to keep the engine / tranny in the same spot as the 350/700 I took out of it. That way, the driveshaft is the same length. Just had to move the trans x-member since the 4L60 has a different mounting location than the 700.

Re: ?s for people with 5.3 engine

What is everyone using for radiators and fans? Are you converting over to electric fan or using the stock fan for the 5.3?

Re: ?s for people with 5.3 engine

i plan on bolting my 5.3 to my t350-im going carb--.... shouldn't have to do anything at all with crossmembers or driveshafts...

it will basically just be a motor swap.
