Lost 100 pounds!

As the title says....my truck lost about 100 lbs today.

Today I went over to a guys house to get an F-body oil pan because my truck oil pan on the 5.3L was too low...below the cross member. Also sitting there was an LS1 block. Apparently he fired it up one morning in his T/A and heard a loud knocking sound...so out it came and he replaced it with an LS6.

After inspecting the LS1, he found a connecting rod had been bent, causing the sound. So he told me that it was for sale too. I asked how much, and he told me to make him an offer. I thought about it for a few minutes while we talked and offered him $200. He accepted the offer, then I only had $165 in my wallet (was expecting to get some other parts at a swap meet earlier...didn't find anything). So now I have an LS1 block that needs a little work.

For the time being I'm going to keep the 5.3L in the truck, and then work on building up this 5.7L for now...but it will eventually find it's home in the truck. Hopefully I can find a set of used pistons and rods cheap too.

Re: Lost 100 pounds!

Keep me in mind when you want to sell the 5.3- I might be interested in it at that time.
