Spring Carlisle show

Anybody going to to Carlise this year? This will be my first year not with my 67 though "not ready". I really want to find a good passenger door. This is the last of my sheet metal before paint. Are there venders that will have new ones? Is it common to find good used? I'm from upstate ny and other than the Syracuse Nationals the shows are pretty small and low in us truckers!!!

Re: Spring Carlisle show

thanks for the tip just pm him. The shipping is killing me, most places are saying 150 for shipping. Carlise is a 3 1/2 4 hour drive so I figure for around the same money I can drive down fill up a cooler and meet and see some great cars and people. Oh and get a hotel room if the cooler gets to light!

Re: Spring Carlisle show

Check DHL, Greyhound or Foward Air (go to fowardair.com and check for locations near you - they fly from most major airports)

All 3 of these shippers have decent pricing

Good Luck,

Harry

No dude, just been there - did that with the big parts. I go to Englishtown Swap Meet in Jersey twice a year and usually bring something big or over-sized home.....I live in South Florida near Ft. Lauderdale.

Re: Spring Carlisle show

I think you'll get a better door, and probably pay the same $ if you buy a round trip ticket out west and ship the door and anything else you might want on a pallet back home

Re: Spring Carlisle show

Carlisle is great. I started going these back in the 70's when you could rent a space for around $25.00 for the weekend. As far as truck vendors, there arn't too many these. You have to do some long walking. There's roughly 16 miles of walking to do. The Truck Nats at Carlisle is where you would find the parts you need. Still, a good show to go to in the Spring & Fall. You'll also see what they call the "Carlisle Price" on cars & parts. Big bucks......

The best place to look for parts is the north field. They're not dealers in that area, so you will likely find vendors who 'will haggle on the prices. The infield is where you will find big price parts. Not everyone, buy mostly everyone in that area is big bucks.

I love those,TOO!!I always forget which shows who`s at and I wera my shoes out and starve 1/2 to death while passing all the other food trying to find that stand while getting sidetracked by parts of all things.I wouldn`t turn down a good ole Kielbasa either. It all tastes better at a swap meet.

Re: Spring Carlisle show

...another thing about Carisle is that after your day at the fairgrounds, go to the Market Cross Pub downtown for some craft brewed beer and a meal before returning home.
