Nice Fleetside Tailgate For Sale or Trade
Straight and rust free only minor surface rust. One dent on top driver side and a few other small dings. Nothing major, it is in great shape for an original tailgate. Will sell for $150 or use for trading material. Things I would be interested in trading for: Set of nice 15x8 6 lug truck rallys, straight rust free fenders for a 72, set of rust free doors for a 72 would prefer Blazer doors but would take truck doors. I don't want to ship, but possibly could arrange to deliver to the Portland area for a fee.

Nice tailgate. How come all the nice ones are on the other side of the country
Good luck with the sale. You may be able to find the rims you want in a local junkyard!

I forgot to post a picture of the backside. I could also use a nice set of 2.5" ram horn manifolds.

Re: Nice Fleetside Tailgate For Sale or Trade
I've noticed people recomending Greyhound for shipping before but Greyhound doesn't have a stop in our town anymore. They closed down a few years ago and now there is a company called Porter Stage Lines that will connect you to a Greyhound terminal but I don't know how that would work for shipping. I will wait a couple of days to see if anything comes about closer to me and if nothing happens I will check into shipping. I was hoping to find an excuse to go to the Portland swap meet this weekend.

Re: Nice Fleetside Tailgate For Sale or Trade
Still checking into shipping. I have to check the exact dimensions for DHL. If it is not longer than 56" it would only be around $30 to ship but I think it is closer to 60" and if that is the case shipping goes up to around $90. Who would ever guess 4 more inches could be so costly.

Re: Nice Fleetside Tailgate For Sale or Trade
If it's under 56" and $30 to ship, I'll buy it.

Re: Nice Fleetside Tailgate For Sale or Trade
OK, I will try to get this squared away. I keep forgeting to get the exact dimensions for shipping. I will measure it up and check on shipping costs through DHL when I get home from work this afternoon. I will charge an additional $20 on top of any shipping charges for materials to crate it up.
lks dcvn is first on the list. 68 Mike will be next. tll74 after that, although I would prefer to trade for some of the parts I need and I would not have to worry about shipping with him. But I will stick with the order of the responses. |

Re: Nice Fleetside Tailgate For Sale or Trade
I got the shipping prices down. I was getting quotes for same day pickup, they go down if you schedule pickup a few days out. I will build a plywood crate to ship the tailgate in. Shipping dimensions are approx 69"x24"x6" and I figured around 90 pounds. These quotes are for residential delivery, they go down $2-$3 for a business address.
lks dcvn- shipped to area code 43615 $63.02 + $20 = $83.02 total shipping. 68 Mike- shipped to area code 93906 $43.30 + $20 = $63.30 total shipping. |

Re: Nice Fleetside Tailgate For Sale or Trade
I'm out - let Mike have the shot at it -
Mike - I will give up my spot in line if you can get that 72 cab of yours to Ohio for me - nobody wants to bring it up... Oh well. Thx for getting the quote for shipping - I was hoping for less, but we know how that goes. Enjoy the rest of your weekend guys. |
