Rechromed mirror tripods
I've been looking for the OE "longer" stainless mirror tripods & "L" arms that the mirror heads mount on. I haven't been able to find a pair that isn't rusty. I found a set sombody chromed, then never used. I'm sure he isn't out of line at $75. But for some reason I keep holding out for a nice set of stainless. His will bolt up using the existing mounting holes, which is what I want of course. So should I pass, or get out the wallet?

Re: Rechromed mirror tripods
My self I'm not a big fan of the chromed arms and " L" supports that go with them. On my '71 4x4 I have the larger " camper " styled supports that have a flat brace that bolts to the door body with three bolts and the two bolts for the lower braces. Since the mirror supports were stainless I kept looking and found a pair of solid (not a hollow chrome tube) stainless "L" arm support for the mirror attach. Picked them up at a local truck parts speacilty shop. They are mfg. by Delbar Products, Inc. Perkasie, Pa. Zip 18944
PN # 620C-11 Were $18.00 each but are SOLID stainless, will not rust thru. Check with your favorite local truck parts house, hope that helps.

Re: Rechromed mirror tripods
I chromed the mirrors on my`70 C30 and I know you really need to keep up on that chrome.

Re: Rechromed mirror tripods
Well the set pictured sold- so I'll be leaving the painted ones on for now. I wanted to find a pair to put on while I was doing the window regulator & door panel swap, so I could mount them with bolts & nuts instead of dealing with stripped holes & the OE sheet metal screws. So I'm sure a nice set of stainless will come along when I'm done.
