Any body have any good affordable companies that insure our classic trucks at a reasonable rate? Just a weekend driver not daily use. Thanks

i insured my '67 with j.c.taylor insurance. $12,000 comp/collision for $110.00 per year.

If you only drive weekends and have a locked garage (and are over age 25) there are lots of options for super cheap, like $100-150 per year policies.

Off the top of my head... You can call hagerty or grundy...

I use Haggerty's. I got 20 or 25k in coverage for 200/yr.

Have your vehicle appraised by an auto appraiser - Usually $175 - 250 or so. They'll give you an *official* appraisal that you can walk into any insurance company-they'll have to insure it for that value, no matter what (unless they refuse to insure you altogether, of course).

That's what I'm going to do with mine, when I get the money

A guy I talked to at GoodGuys this year swore by Grundy's. Said the insurance guy even "appraised" it himself. For a truck in driver condition, w/disc brakes, drop, wheels/tires and a couple of other mods said it was worth $28k. I think he said he paid $180/year or so.

Hagerty is the way to go.

Appraised at 14,500, FULL Coverage, 50 miles free towing, Plus a discount for "passive anti-theft" = $170 yr.

So far (knock on wood) I haven't needed to use the Towing option and I hope I won't have to, but it sure is a great feeling knowing it's there if I need it.
If you're going to get classic insurance (Whoever it is) make sure you spend the little extra bucks on the towing. Good thing about Hagerty too is you can change to "unlimited towing", but that's a little more money, so I figured, for now, the chances of me going far beyond 100 miles are slim. Keep it to something you can afford.

Plus, I'm also a member of AAA.

well im 17 and for being a teenager i think 50 bucks a month is cheap for my 72 chevy...kids my age in newer cars are payin like 200 a month in insurance

Mine is a thousand a year on the Tahoe, but my parents pay that thank god. It is through Grinnell or something like that, a company for farmers and stuff
