Question Leaking when it rains? and will spray paint work?

When it rains it leaks under my dash and where my glovebox is. It is like right on the firewall.

Was wanting to sand it and put primer on some dents and a few rust spots. It is for indoor and outdoor with rust curb will it work til I can fix it better????

There's a welded cowl seam in the corner, both sides of the cab. They are noted for rusting out. A quick fix is to clean them up as best you can, and cover the whole area in & out with silicone or seam sealer. The seam runs under the winshield rubber too- water gets behind the rubber and will rust thru also.

Dunno if a body shop will fix it, depends. It's not easy to fix "permanent". I'll get some pics of one that is really bad for ya tomorrow.

They will fix it if you ask, they may not know about it otherwise

Mine does not look like that just minor looking rust. Is there any replacement panels for this?

I just looked at it it looks like a screw went there or a rubber piece went there.

Ther`s a replacement panel, but it`s the whole firewall. You don`t see it,so a quick patch will do to keep a truck going.Treat that rust, prime with a good sealing primer, seal with seam seal, prime, and paint.Keep it washed out after that.Put screen in your cowl vent panel(where wipers come through).

Can you get the screen at napa or advance or autozone?

Is there any build threads that had this and fixed it?

Earlier today I sanded and used some white spray paint on the bad rusty lookin spots where the door is, and sanded the rockers and put gray primer to try and slow that rust. I wish, that rust didnt exist because its a pain in the rear end.

PLEASE keep me informed on where to get rid of the leaking

It could also be leaking through the radio antenna area.
