Re: headders for angle plug heads
I think Sanderson makes headers for angle plugs. Their header are a little pricey but are great quality. Give them a call and tell them what you got.

Re: headders for angle plug heads
You may want to check $$ on that dz code motor. Some of them tend to bring big $$ and it might be "The Piece" for some bucks up restorer who wants it.Should be worth a motor and some x-tra to the right guy.

Re: headders for angle plug heads
I'm running Hooker super comps part# HOK-2840hkr they are a 13/4" size, fit was excellent and on my application where I moved my motor back as far as I could I only needed to take a sliver off the lower part of the passenger side of the frame for the amount of clearance I desired. John

Re: headders for angle plug heads
I wouldn't run that 302 in it, IMO. The engine is rare and it was only offered for 3 years, it can in the Cameros. I would hold on to it or sell to someone that needs it for a show car, like what it came out in. Whatever you choose to do but the short stroke will love todays high gas prices. If it was me I'd hold on to it and buy a good 350.

Re: headders for angle plug heads
you might want to check and see if it really is a DZ 302, im pretty sure the DZ code 302 engines came out in late 68. its more likely an MO code 302 if its 67 dated block and heads. still the same engine for the most part (other than 4 bolt mains i think) just incase you decide to sell it you can make sure its not misrepresented

Re: headders for angle plug heads
Look,I'll trade you a fresh 327 for that old 302,that will fix your header problem.I'll even pay freight.lol.I'd consider selling the 302 to someone doing a 67 Z-28 resto, and with the money you'll get from it,you could buy a real nice 383 or 406.That short stroke motor wont push a truck as fast as a big cube small block, but it will rev to the hills.Besides that motor needs to go to a nice Z. Just my opinion,Good luck.

Re: headders for angle plug heads
to tell you the truth, the only thing a 302 is good for is a restored first gen Z/28... they just dont have the tourque you need on the street, or the strip for that matter. maybe on a roadcourse they're alright. that is what there meant for i guess. my favorite thing about them is they DO sount nasty at 9,000RPM but thats about it

Re: headders for angle plug heads
I have angled plug AFR heads, and I use dynomax shorty chevelle headers. I did have to have them sent three times to get a drivers side that only required a small ding to make them fit.
I'm with most of the other guys so far. Sell the engine, make some cash, and buy a bigger cube motor for the truck.

Re: headders for angle plug heads
that is what i have been told by alot of people but what about the coool factor and the being dofferent factor of haveing a true 302 chevy motor because everyone has a 350 of things like that but that is why i wanted a 327 because you dont see many of them around anymore so idk what i am going to do with it lol
