Excuse my ignorance: Is there a difference...

Between a long bed and short bed rear fenders? Are the long bed fenders longer? Thanks

There is a difference in the spare tire mount. The long bed spare mounts lower to the step than a short bed. The short bed cutout is higher and more to the rear. The spare recess is larger on the short bed. They are both the same length.

on my longbed the driver side rear fender has no cut out for the spare but the spare tire mount is still on the truck. (49 GMC longbed 3/4 ton)
