Jack Stand Question
Hey guys I always do all of my lifting and using of jack stands on a nice solid concrete slab.
But now I have another project parked on my slab and need to lift my truck on my newer asphault driveway. The driveway was just put in this past fall around early november. My question is this: I was hoping it would be safe and protect my new driveway by laying down some pieces of 1/2" plywood under both the jack and the jack stands??? What do you guys think?

Re: Jack Stand Question
The asphalt has gone through a winter, so I would think it'll be hardened up now. I trust you have been driving and parking on it, so it should be compacted too. Go with the largest pieces of plywood you got to spread out the weight.

Re: Jack Stand Question
Yup driving and parking on as soon as about 5 days after it was put down.
Thanks for the reply I think Im going to use some square pieces of 3/4" Plywood under both the jack itself when lifting and then the stands.

Re: Jack Stand Question
Plywood will work for that. I've used plywood to rest jacks and jackstands on while supporting a load on grass (don't worry it was a level part of the yard) in a pinch.
