motor swap
I have a 67 chevy c 10 and it was an original 3 speed with a staight six. Now it is a 4spd witha 350 V8. When i did the swap i am unsure r u suppose to move the motor mounts to the forward holes in the frame. Also The mid croosmember the one that bolts to the bellhousing does that need to move forward also. Thanks much help appricated

V-8's and inline 6's use different motor mounts, but I am not sure which holes to use on the frame.

does anyone else know if the mounts need to be moved in the frame. Also where is the easies and best place to get the new motor mounts?

well i have a 4x4 and just put a 350 in it and used the rear holes but i wish i would have used the front ones. it is tight to the firewall but still fits. i guess it just puts the weight to the back. i was told the front holes are for bigblocks. you should be able to get motor mounts at any good autoparts store, or online

ok thanks i have the motor in it now and thats y i am asking and i am still useing the stright six mount in the truck also and it is a tight fit against the firewall. I had tall valve covers on it and they hit the firewall when we put the cab back on the frame.
