Transmission code on spid?
Looked at a 70 cst 1/2 ton 2wd with a trans code of "M38 3 spd auto trans" I know most of the autos were m49. Was this a 350 or 400? It was gone so i couldn't look. Just curious.

Re: Transmission code on spid?
that is the car way of saying TH350. A hand full of trucks ended up with that. You are right in thinking it should say M49.

Re: Transmission code on spid?
The M49 code was used for the 350 and 400. Sometimes you will see an asterisk behind the description on the 400 but not always.
