TH400 in 1969???

I went to look at a parts truck today with Critter another board member and he swears the truck was outfitted with a TH400 but I didn't think they came with one. On the column it said P N R L1 L2.

Someone please help clear this up.

BTW it was a 2wd 1/2 ton LWB.

Re: TH400 in 1969???

It was also optional in other years behind a small block. Most v-6 auto trucks have or had them also.

Re: TH400 in 1969???

I have a '69 CST 396 truck with a TH400, but the D L2 L1 pattern would be on a TH350 as well.

Crawl under, and use the reference below and you'll know for sure.

The first year for a turbo 350 was 1969, and I don't think they were available in trucks/pickups til '71?

69 was the first year for the TH350 in trucks as well.
And I agree the TH400 was avalible since at least 67, if not earlier.
