Seat will not latch

I can't latch the seat on the right side. It's real bad when I have someone in the truck. Right side of the seat will move when braking. I took pics with the seat resting and pushing on it. Any ideas what might be wrong with it? I have a feeling that I will need a seat frame.

Re: Seat will not latch

I had the same problem with mine. Looked underneath and found a hole than went through the seat rail and slider so I stuck a bolt through it. I didn't thread a nut onto it so if for some reason I need to slide the seat, I just pop the bolt out and slide away.

that hole may have been drilled by the p.o. to fix the problem the same way though. I'm not sure.

Re: Seat will not latch

There's a piece that slides in and out of the track that locks it in place. Its attached to the rod that runs from the seat adjuster on the driver's side and has a sping on the outside(passenger side) with a keeper on it. May have just popped off. Mine did and it did the same thing til I put the spring and keeper back on.

Re: Seat will not latch

Check out this link for some photos of how the brackets are set up. I just installed a bench in my truck, let me know if you have any questions.

It sounds like it's either stuck or broke. Easiest way to see what's wrong it to pull the seat, in my opinion.

Re: Seat will not latch

I removed the seat and found rod, springs and other parts. I also found more rust. I didn't have time to look at the seat yet. I will try and fix it this week.

It looks like you have all of the parts to put it back together.

Re: Seat will not latch

the little bar laying on the floor is causing the problem with the seat not latching. It's not the best shot, but take a look at the pics below... hope this helps. If you need better pics, I have a spare bracket that I can use to get better pics with.

Re: Seat will not latch

I didn't and everything appears to work out okay.

Glad to hear that you were able to put the brackets back together! I hope they work now.
