Pics of power steering brackets, please
I'm working on putting p/s on the '66. Any body running p/s with a short water pump, and the alt. mounted to the exhaust. I would like to keep my alt where it is. Pictures would be grand. I have found a bracket online that will work, think I might just fab something up, looking for ideas
here is the one I found bracket linky

jon, i saw those pics in the other post. my manifolds are different than that second pic that first pic might be helpful, but i can't see the p/s set up here are some crappy phone pics of my alt set up and this looks very similar to the bracket that mounts to the exhaust manifold

Re: Pics of power steering brackets, please
I don't recall exactly which manifolds are on your truck but they appear to be later model ones to me. If so, you will probably have to go with a custom bracket or the (pricey) one that you posted the link for. I don't recall EXACTLY what year the SWP went away but I believe it was around the same time that the Rams Head manifolds went away. So, in short, I don't think GM made a bracket setup for the SWP and the type manifolds that you are running. Keep in mind, this is just my opinion.

Re: Pics of power steering brackets, please
yeah, i'm not sure. these appear to be the rams horn manifolds, i think they are era correct but not sure. there is the possibility that they are car manifolds. i will get some better pics.
also my heads have no accessory holes, so that rules out some other options

Re: Pics of power steering brackets, please
My 66 GMC has factory PS, but the pump and bracket aren't installed right now. I'll take a picture of my bracket. It's funky, it uses the front motor mount holes and sorta wraps around the block so that another bolt can go thru the bracket and into the side of the motor. I don't believe that it connects to the exhaust manifold and I'm sure that it doesn't connect to the water pump.

Re: Pics of power steering brackets, please
If you still need a pic let me know and I'll get you one of the original p/s bracket on my '66 C20. Those exhaust manifolds look to be original to me. I may have an extra set of brackets, I'll have to look and see.
