coy center caps
What do they measure very top to very bottom?I am thinking of making some that fit for you guys that would not have to have the spacer. If I can keep the price down to half way reasonable.

Re: coy center caps
This would be great if they can be done w/o the goofy recess for the logo.

Re: coy center caps
I'd rather have no logo.... why advertise a wheel. I like the clean look better anyway.
Hopefully someone with Coys will give Mekdad the info he needs soon. |

Re: coy center caps
This is going to be a sweet idea! I've seen caps for the TTII's that were smooth and some even have the Chevy logo etched into them. Can't wait to see the then result.
ttt for someone with a set of Coy's that can help Mekdad out...

Re: coy center caps
I used to work for another shop and we made custom center caps for Coddingtons ( for a guy who was building a HIGH $$ car to compete for the Ridler Award ) . They took a lot of machining time ( we surface the outer face ) and it gave it a "PRISM" effect and after polishing and plating they SPARKLED.
The lathe work was not bad, but we would load the part in the CNC and start it and go home for the night, next morning it was complete except for what ever engraving needed to be done. We even made a BILLET GRILL for this guy's 55 CHEVY. Here are some pics, we made a ton of ONE-OFF Billet parts for this guy's 55 Chevy and 37 Ford. Good Luck Hope it works !!!!! The owner of the other shop was quoting the "custom" caps to other people for approximatly $ 400 each. I would love to have a set for my Coys, but until I can get me a CNC mill I'll be waiting. |

Re: coy center caps
I need the dimension on a stock cap for now so I can price material. Real nice work love the pics.I was hoping to keep the price for smoothies around $200.00 for the set of 4 they would be cut on the lathe.

Re: coy center caps
After putting on the spacers, I had to get #10-32 x 3/4" Long Flatheads
Flathead lengths are overall lengths as Button Heads the length would be from under the head to the end of the screw. Hope this Helps. I will get you a length tonite when I get home. |

Re: coy center caps
The main thing I need is total thickness from mounting surface to top and what size screws they use so I can get some longer to work with the new cap. They used flathead, but I wonder what button heads would look like?

Re: coy center caps
I had my spacers cut by terrellracing the file came from Fatboys69.
The spacers turned out great, and the price was very reasonable too! I'm pretty picky, but I have no problems with the way the spacers look on the wheels. A set of caps like what has been discussed would be nice, but the spacers don't look bad at all. |
