Shock question?
My son and I are going to do the disc break conversion with 2 1/2 drop front and 4" drop rear springs soon. Our question is will stock shocks work with this drop? It's on his 68 c10 long fleet. What shocks do you guys prefer? The truck needs shocks NOW. Thanks guys.

Front's should be Ok if you're using drop spindles.I assume you are since the 68's had drums.The shock mounts don't move.In the rear most recomend a shock relocation kit.I haven't relocated my rears yet but it feels like it might be a good Idea.I'm thinking someone who has done both may post a parts # for rears with the relocation.
BTW so far I'm running stock rears(mine were still OK)without relocating and haven't noticed any bottoming but also haven't carried a load.

I really like KYB's. My dad has the softer GR-2's and I went with the stiffer Gas-adjusts. We both have lowered trucks

You might want to look at the Bell TEch "Street Performance" line of shocks. They have a good quality of shock and also made for different levels of lowered trucks.

I dropped mine 3" in the front with drop coils and 4" in the rear with drop coils and I am running stock shocks with no problems. Those drop shocks cost like $50 a piece, so I just bought some cheap ones at autozone with a lifetime garaunte,e and if they DO bust I'll just take them back, but I put about 200 miles on it before I tore it apart to paint and it rode just fine and we (my son and I) had no problems with them. Before you spend about $200 on some drop shocks, I'd try some new standard ones for about $50.

KYB's are good shocks. That is what I am putting on my truck with a 3.5/5 drop. I have heard that you don't need drop shocks or shock relocators until you get to a 5" drop.
