confused again

working on getting temp gauge to work and looking at past post and FAQ and seen a couple of mentions of moving or changing wire positions in the fuse clusterif you are going from a light to a gauge. anyone know of this to be true.i don't know what the truck was orig. The gauge seems good and pegs when grounded. is there a way to ground it somewher to see if grounding is the issue. i'm not sure if i'm am getting good ground from motor to cab. help if you can. Gary

Re: confused again

The wire positions have to be changed when going from idiot lights to gauges. GMC Pauls has a good write up on it. Gauges It's about the middle of the page.

Re: confused again

however, yours is wired properly if I am reading this right.
The green wire that goes to the sending unit, when you ground it, the guage pegs. If that's what you are doing,t hen the guage is good, the printed circuit board ont eh back of the inst panel is good, all assorted wireing is good to include the green wire, all that is left to be bad is the sending unit in the head.
