SWB (Short Wide Box) Short Fleetside SNB (Short Narrow Box) or Step side LWB (Long Wide Box) or Long Bx Fleetside LNB (Long Narrow Box) or Long Step Side I have seen this 20+ time already here so its no big deal just wanted to clarify for any that may be interested in something concerning those parts affected by which bed it actually has. Thanks for posting the availability though.

Re: SWB in Windsor Ca Pick-n-Pull
I did not know SWB = short wide box. I thought it meant short wheel base. It is a short wheel base, step side. Sorry.

Re: SWB in Windsor Ca Pick-n-Pull
Hey no need for sorry. I'm sure alot of people say it, spell it, and may even interpret it as short wheel base. Thats why we are all here I think is to learn more about these trucks, how to's, etc. I was just saying generally when you see an add anywhere if it says SWB its a short wide box. Have a great day.

Re: SWB in Windsor Ca Pick-n-Pull
Here we go again.... Stony you did it right. SWB stepside would equal a short wheelbase stepside. SWB fleetside is the other version. IF you had just said SWB, most would have assumed SWB fleetside. But this argument goes on and on and on and on....

Re: SWB in Windsor Ca Pick-n-Pull
Ahh, nevermind. I knew I should have never said anything. there is always someone else out there to say no your wrong.
Oh well I'll keep to myself from now on. Never the less I'll understand when something is listed as a LNB (outside of this site) wich would not fit with that line of thinkin. As well as every time someone says SWB i will wonder.. I wonder if it has a step side bed? I would know if it said SNB as would everyone else. I'll look and learn what I can. But I will leave the information to the experts. Ill keep my dumb coments to myself. After 30+ years of thinking, reading, listing, buying, selling, it one way, poof in one post I am reducated. Thanks for setting me straight.

Re: SWB in Windsor Ca Pick-n-Pull
Okay, I'll go with that. But, here an imponderable for you.
If you have a truck that is a crew cab short bed fleet side. is it a LLSWB? How about an extra cab long bed step side? SLWB step side? so under that train of thought everything past a short bed step side or fleet side would be a LWB? where would now be the cut off for LWB once you start adding to the cab you add to the wheel base correct? so if you just stretched a standard cab say 55-59 truck that never really came as a crew or extra cab but it still had a step side bed now even though its a short bed step side its now a LWB step side? this is exactly why we drive on parkways and park on driveways. I don't know when or why it started but I am sure its because at some point People just don't conform to what makes sense. Rather then to be wrong again, I will from now on assume that when someone said SWB here they are talking about the wheel base, if it says LWB it could be anything past 115" on 67-72, 114" on 55-59 and I will have to learn what SWB means on the other years.

Re: SWB in Windsor Ca Pick-n-Pull
I agree with you there Riveted1. You are absolutely right with GM's designation. I took its as it was stated above when you said "Here we go again.... Stony you did it right. SWB stepside would equal a short wheelbase stepside" would then in turn mean exactly that I was wrong for fact, rather then two different opinions. I can understand the literal meaning when explained with GM production numbers. Hence the reason I said generally not factually that this is the way it is. I could be wrong. Seems as if I am. It's happened before. I don't remember when, I don't have to, my wife reminds me all the time.
either way. It is what it is. Everyone on this site seems to designate it with wheel base. Sorry any confusion I may have caused Stony. Just thought I would try to help. Not throw the earth of its axis. Have a great day all 3 of you.

Re: SWB in Windsor Ca Pick-n-Pull
No harm no foul, Sinister. I made the comment about "Here we go again..." because this topic has come up many times before. In fact, there was a post yesterday about "the old debate."
I think looking at things from different angles helps us all. I honestly had never heard of "long narrow bed" and such until I came to this site several years ago. But be rest assured, when I see that these days, I know what those ppl are talking about too! Have a great day yourself!
