need help with 3 speed transmission mount and driveshaft

I have a 3 on the tree and 250 six in a SWB leaf spring truck.

Does anyone know how or if the tranny is supposed to be mounted to the frame? Right now it is unsupported.

This is a shortened LWB truck. The orginal truck had a 2 piece driveshaft with a crossmember that supported the end of the first shaft back from the tranny. It has a single shaft now, and that crossmember has been partially cut away to make clearance for the driveshaft. The crossmember doesn't support anything at all now. The only drivetrain support are the engine mounts, and I think that is causing some drivability problems.

Any pictures of how this should look would be great.

thanks
Mark

On the three speed the trans mount is mounted to the frame near the bellhousing unlike automatics they have the mount at the tail of the trans. The three speed has 2 big mounts 1 on eatherside of the bellhousing that takes a special frame mounts to atatch it to the frame i have pics of the mounts and bellhousing if you want them.

Yup.

Three speeds only have the bellhousing mounts - no tailshaft crosmember. they're light enough that they don't really need it - or atleast thats the thinking from the factory, i guess?

It hasn't been an issue in my truck, at least.
