A memorial
If you hang out in general discussion you might have seen my prayer thread about the loss of my step father. He passed away this Monday morning, quite unexpectedly from a sudden heart attack.
We are leaving Monday to go spend about ten days with my mom. We would leave sooner but we have complications preventing that. In talking with my mom; she intends to send a lot of shop and hand tools back with us, things like a compressor with tools and a trailer to haul things. In recognition of my love for my step father and his contributions, both knowingly and in this late donation, to my project I am going to memorialize him in some way on the truck, most likely a credit painted on the firewall or the front bed wall. Seems such a small thing but I want his name to carry forward in this way.

my condolences... I'm doing something similar for my pops, it's the right thing to do.
Good on ya, and enjoy the time with your mom. Tomorrow's no guarantee, make the most of every day.

My condolences....
Placing his name on the glove compartment of a finished project would be a great tribute. I once saw a 67-72 Chevy (don't remember what year) that had belonged to a young man that died. He had worked on the truck for a while but never got to finish it. His family fixed the truck up as a tribute to him. |

Condolences from me, man. Sorry for the loss of your stepdad. I'm a stepdad and I feel very close to the kids who put me in that position. In fact, I can't tell the difference between them and the ones I fathered. They all get along like brothers and sisters, which they are. We raised them all, two that were my wifes and two that were mine and one that is ours.
It's nice to read of a positive relationship like yours and it not have been an adversarial one. I'm sure he will be missed and it sounds like he was loved very much.

Keith,Sorry about your step-dad`s passing on.I think that memorializing him in your truck ans with his old tools couldn`t be more fitting.Great thought,go for it!
