400SB balance plate??
Anyone have any experience with one? Would like to put the 400 I have in a truck with a manual transmission, I have a flywheel and clutch assembly that are good...NAPA lists a balance plate made by Zoom for use with an unweighted flywheel (NAPA part #NNC 624001)....just wondering if anyone had used one before. Thanks in advance for any input...Gord

Re: 400SB balance plate??
I have not used one but I did look at them before buying the correct flywheel. I was concerned about the extra part which is not part of the flywheel. I bought a flywheel from Northern Auto parts which has the weight cast into it.

Re: 400SB balance plate??
I've used one. I had a 79 K-10 with a granny 4 speed, changed the 350SB to a 400SB and used the balance plate with my orignal flywheel and clutch. Worked like a charm for me. No vibrations and the engine lasted until I sold it, maybe 20k later.
