Show me your wheels and tires
A friend's 66 C-10 SWB currently has 275-60X15 tires on 8" rally wheels. He wants to convert to 17-in. What wheel widths, backspacing, and tire sizes are you guys running?

Re: Show me your wheels and tires
I used to have these on my '62. 17x8 TTII's with 255-45r17's. Not sure of the back spacing. I didn't specify when I ordered them... they fit great...

Sorry for the same photo...since I'm doing a lot of modifications to the frame, I haven't had a chance to put the rolling stock back on the chassis for some time. Anyway, Ansen Sprints 16x12 (old funny car wheels) rear and Ansen Sprints 15x6 up front.

Torque thrust ST's......18x8.5........w/ 275/40/18's I think the backspacing is 5.25". Originally for a 88-98 3/4 ton truck with 6-lug.

18" Foose Nitrous. 255/55 in the front and 285/50 in the rear. I know, I know - she needs a drop. I'll be doing a MILD drop next year. ~3 inches or so is all I need.
My old stepside with 225/70/15 front and 275/60/15 rear on 8.5" slotted mags.

Re: Show me your wheels and tires
Picked these take-offs up on CL for $150 for the set of four. Tires are like new, still have color rings around the tread and smell fresh. They are Goodyear P265-75R/16. These aren't exactly what I had in mind, but I couldn't pass up the deal. Of course it cost me another $86 for 1.25" billet adapters w/14mm studs to match the wheels. For some reason, it's hard to find these with a large center bore. If anyone needs a line on them, I can hook you up. The adapters look so nice, I hated to cover them up. Ignore the jack stands, they aren't holding the passenger side up, this is how it sits with these wheels and tires. What ye think? I'll try to get better pictures tomorrow, there's a hurricane going on today. I just got the adapters today and I had to run out and install them in the rain (just the passenger side).

Re: Show me your wheels and tires
Thanks, I really wanted some 8" painted rims with moons and something in the vicinity of 275-50s. I kinda like these wheels though the tires will eventually have to go when I do drop spindles and disc brakes. By the time I can afford them, the tires will probably be slick.

I just got a set of Superior Torque thrust for my truck.
They look just like Americans, without the peak on the spokes.

So now back to school to do something I enjoy besides wrenchin - training to be a chef. Hope to open my own "joint" one day. Want to cook up and serve the good grub and have good time doin it. Will see. Still need a job to pay the bills till the dream come true.... Hope all of y'all are doing well!
