BBC K5's
Where are all of the BBC K5's?? Nobody from the K5 crowd has been nominated for TOTM. jays454 is ineligible since he still has to get it put together, else he'd be a shoe in. Surely I'm not the only other one here with one stuffed under the hood...or am I

Re: BBC K5's
oooooooo....MPFI. I'm weighing that fairly heavily as an upgrade when I tear into the motor (in a couple of years). Who did your setup? Edelbrock (I think I see it on the intake)?

Re: BBC K5's
Man, I know in the end an aftermarket EFI will be worth every penny, since even installing a late model motor with EFI is spendy, but my pockets keep telling me a carb is OK and about $2-3k cheaper. If I wheeled in my Blazer and could justify it that way EFI would already be on it!! Burt that thing made my blood rush to a particular part of my anat!! Man, that is sweet and I am sure you get great perf out of it as well as reliability, mind if I ask a guess on MPG?? I know efficiency and BBC don't go together in theory, but EFI helps. I was looking at trying to upgrade and use a factory Vortec 454 intake and injector set up (I have one complete already!) but for the hassle and amount of settling on ho hum OE parts because of the design, availability, etc I'd have to do instead of getting what I want, I think a set up like Burt's is the only way to go!!

hehehee My k5 is mostly off road only nowa days, it use to be my daily driver but not anylonger. The MPFI was kinda tuff to setup from a programing point of view. I never worked with EFI setups before so I wasn't too sure how to make it right so after I got the exhaust installed I took my K5 to a dyno shop and had them tune my FI on the dyno, best 200 bucks I ever spent cuz my A/F ratio was WAY off. Eversence then the FI setup has ran flawless..throttle responce is amazing compared to a carb. Offroad performance is soo sweeeet too, no more bumppy sloshin and choken spitin down the trail...smooooooth wheelin no matter the angle or whatever Burt
