Help: 20in wheel BS to get a deep dish look?

I was looking into a 20in wheel on back and 18in in front. What is everyone running to get a deep dish wheel? I have a 67swb with a 5 bolt pattern, so its rearend is the wider one, 1.5in wider, I believe.

Man,i think this is the most popular question known to this site!! check out the guyz post with 20inch rims already,im sure they've answer that question. I found some sound numbers lookin through n2billet,kevclassic,etc. i wrote them all down n when i'm ready to order i'll choose. Meanwhile i'll still be search in for any & all post on this...

I'm running Billit Specialties. Wheels are 20 X 10's on the back and 18 X 8's on the front. The backspace for both are 5.5 inches and work out well. The fronts are tucked in a little more than most trucks I think, but I don't have any problem with tire rub on the inner or out sides of the inner skirts. Good Luck.

Check my link for Foose wheels...They are an DL (deep lip) wheel..and I did my homework on the Wheels...They fit perfect.

I was looking into the Foose nitrous, but went more towards the Foose legends, because I liked how the lip was chrome, and it goes way back towards the inside of the wheel. It also doesn't have the little rivet look. They are 20x10, but are 6.25bs, so they tuck hard.

6.25"BS on 10" wheels is only .250" more 'lip' than typical 8" 5-or-6 lug GM steel ralleys. One of the board members here has a truck w/some 20x10 Torq Thrust II's w/4"BS using a slightly narrower rear end & it looks sweet. Definitely DEEP dish.....

I want to tuck, and lay out on a bagged truck. This truck may have wheels with a wheel I want, I want it to lay out, but have a deep dish, I love that look.

Is $345 for a 20x10 wheel, the going price?

This is the one I was referring too. IIRC, he used an f-body/car 12-bolt . . ....

I managed to get away with only 3" BS on my 20x10 TT II's because my F*rd 9 is only 57.75" wide hub to hub. The rearend is from an early Bronco, not the strongest 9" around but good enough for this boulevard cruiser .

To run the min backspacing on most wheels which is about 3 to 4" you would need about a 60" wide rearend, I am going with 57" on mine where I can run that with a 12" wide wheel. The deep lip you are talking about is achieved with a narrower rearend than what is stock in these trucks.

I believe this one has a stock rear.


This one was when I had mine together with a stock rear and I think that was around 5 something inches of BS.


Same wheels same rear different truck.


This one has around a 60" rear I think and the orange one probably has something similar.





Pictures always help me so I hope this helps and I am not torq thrust crazy but just these are what I have saved.

Those with the 4" BS make me want to swap rears just for that extra dish. It really puts those trucks over the top IMO.

Well i have 20x10 with a 4.5" backspacing and with a 67-69 c10 rear end you have about 1/2-3/4" clearance per side. In these pis it is with a 70 c10 rear end and it is very close to touching the fender lip. The pic with the bed on it i removed the pin that goes inbetween the axles to get that extra clearance for the pics.

The backspace measurement is the distance from the the inside [back] lip of the rim to mounting surface where it contacts the brack drum/disk. The less backspace "BS" you have on a given wheel then the more rim lip you have on the outside of the wheel. 20x10 wheel with 3" BS has 7" inches of lip...

BigSky71 I think LUV2XCLR8 was asking where to measure axle width. You measure an axle to the mounting surface on the drum (or disc).

Oh I see, well the rearend I went with is right at 8" narrower than my stock '71 rearend iirc...

Toyo Proxes STs in 315/35 and 255/45. Unfortunately the fronts have just slightly more side wall than the rear; I wanted 245/45s but they don't make them or were unavailable at the time.
