Part # verification

I've searched high and low and can't find it. The number is 3942992BA. It is supposed to be a double groove pulled for a BB short water pump. Thanks in advance.

Re: Part # verification

Probably need to find a dealer with the old paper catalogs, that number has been discontinued I'd guess. I found a Dealer who had the catalogs and was able to get me the part numbers for the 68-71 BBC motor mount #'s and the bigged U-bolts that hold the lower A arms on, once you get that info, they usually show any superceeded numbers after that.

The other place is called obsolete chevy parts (but they $$$ because of the obsolete name!)

Re: Part # verification

Thanks for the information. I have the part, I just want to make sure I'm listing it correctly in the for sale section.

That's it! Thanks. It was bolted to a BBC short water pump. I wonder if they interchange?

Re: Part # verification

The 6656 part says to be BBC pulley, but it looks like the one on the Ebay as well. I do not think they cross but not sure. Year one has them listed as V8 pulley (no BBC or SBC designation so maybe??) I wouldn't think one from a BBC would work on a 292, but maybe???

Re: Part # verification

I know that sb pullies will work on short wp big blocks, the diameter is a little different but the pullies will interchange and will work- they line up correctly etc. so if you have a double upper pulley off of a a/c sb truck it can be used on a short water pump bb truck.

Re: Part # verification

I have had several 2 groove water pump pullies for BBC short water pump, all with different numbers. I researched a couple of the numbers and came up with an I6 application and others...but the pullies were IDENTICAL to each other otherwise. I am sure that there are several years that interchange.
