Body interchange question..

Will a 1967 sb stepside body fit on a later 4x4 chassis? Like a 73+? If so what work has to be done?

well, problem number one is that 73 frames were lengthened considerably and the body frame mount brackets are all different and so are frame bumper horns, youd have to cut length of frame down where neded and swap on 67-72 frame mounts and do something about bumper horns, ask mudder67, he has done all this to his, youll need wleder and other items to do this, its custom work.

good luck

Check out Mudder67's truck. His 67 is on a 78 frame I believe. It looks great. He had to take a couple inches out of the frame, but it wasn't a bad swap he said. I'm sure he will post you some details here, but you could PM him.

73-87 are 4.5" lkonger wheelbase than 63-67, plus may be a differnece of frame rail length before front axle and after rear axle which would have to be cut off or added to to make same as 67-72, ive never actually taken the effort to measure other differneces other than width and wheelbase, but i have weighed a longbed 2wd frame with aut crossmember minus frotn cradle and it was 200 lbs total, bare 12 bolt axle housing is 75 lbs, cradle is real light, spindles with rotors and calipers mounted are 60lbs each for light duty 1" rotors spindles, cant remember right now what 12 bolt chunk with gears weighs
