Turn Signals Problem
My Turn Signals Work When The Headlight Are Off But When I Cut The Headlights On They Stop Working And My Brake Lights Are Working Properly.

Re: Turn Signals Problem
It's probably a grounding issue. After 40 years (plus/minus 2), electrical connections degrade. There is also a wiring harness for the lighting on the front of the vehicle that really isn't hard to change out. I had to change mine after the wire from the terminal block on the right fender became grounded on a header and fried. Note: I do not recommend trying to pull a grounded hot wire (from the battery) into two parts with your bare hands...
But check the ground wires and make sure the metal beneath them is clean and that the bolts/washers are, too. Rust makes an excellent insulator, so get rid of it. If the problem still exists after this, it's probably harness time. Check www.wiringharness.com. They have harnesses that are correctly colored and with the proper connectors. I guarantee that it will be "plug and play". There are also vendors here who have harnesses.

Re: Turn Signals Problem
I agree.. Here's a post with my problem.
I went overboard but I fought this for a week and decided I was going to make sure I had a good return to the battery from all the points (cab, engine, frame). http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...ight=grounding |
