Third Row as First Row?

Is it possible to use the Third Row buckets from the later model Tahoe's/Burb's as your two front buckets. I'm talking about the ones that Big J just installed as his rear seats. I know they don't sit as high. So then in essence you could use 4 of those in a blazer.

The normal front buckets from those vehicle are too high for my blazer, of course it didn't help that we cut 5 inches out of the windshield but that's what I wanted.

Re: Third Row as First Row?

Why not cut a few inches from the bottom of the seat bracket? I've seen it done on a few trucks including mine ('97 tahoe seats). Not sure that the third row seat would be as comfortable as the fronts.

hot,

My main reason is that I don't care for the headrest either. I did go buy there a put my third row seat in the driver position. Actually looked pretty good and it wasn't too high. It also sat comfortable and is low to the ground with little or minimal cutting needing to be done to the brackets.

Re: Third Row as First Row?

It's pretty cheap to get them recovered and eliminate the head rests.

Re: Third Row as First Row?

Third row seats will be to narrow for use in the front but a set of second row seats would work fine, I ran a set of 04 Tahoe 2nd row seats in a 70 swb for awhile and liked em.

They sat low enough that there was clearance issues with my high hump tranny cover (big block 2wd truck), even better for your situation I'd think.

No pics of them installed but here's what I was using. (complete set for sale BTW)

Re: Third Row as First Row?

Well, I brought one over to the body shop and sat it down in there. I got in and sat down and it sat really well and I wasn't cramped. I guess the only downside is when we put them in there won't be any moving them back and forth.

I found a full bench third row with the integrated seatbelts that match my bucket seatbelts that I'm going to snag.
