Can somebody measure their...er..ah..dip stick for me?

No really.....

My frankentruck is assembled from various & possibly dubious parts. I am not sure where the dip stick for the Turbo 350 Transmission came from. So, i don't want to burn it up by under/over filling it. The stick that is in it measures 24" from tip to the top of the cap(not counting the finger handle). Can someone that has one check this measurment for me?

I will now sit back, drink some Rebel Yell & await a response....

Re: Can somebody measure their...er..ah..dip stick for me?

The dipstick on my TH 350 is 24" long from the cap to the tip. This does not include the handle length.

Re: Can somebody measure their...er..ah..dip stick for me?

My aftermarket chrome one measures 27-1/2 but I think that the tube is that much longer than stock too as it sticks up a few inches above the valve cover. I bought the set so I would have a matching set when I put the engine and trans in the truck.

I don't have a stock one and or tube in good enough shape to measure.

Re: Can somebody measure their...er..ah..dip stick for me?

Thanks, mine is stock, so i think the 24" is the winner. But then agan, they made 2 different turbo 350's. One holds 4 quarts of fluid, the other 5(not counting the torque converter). Early version vs late, but alas, i don't know what year mine is.............

Third drink done, tits up & snoring in 5,4,3..........

Re: Can somebody measure their...er..ah..dip stick for me?

My truck originally had a 4 speed.
Now it has a TH 350.

So obviously the tube & stick are after market:
24"

You know that you shouldn't ask a man how big his ranch is, and you shouldn't ask a mechanic how long his dipstick is....
