Posting Photos?
I tired to post a photo of my truck for someone that I have posted before. For some reason I'm getting an error about the size and I don't know how to adjust the pictures?
Any help with that? It needs to be 640x0??? They currently are 800x600. Thanks~

Re: Posting Photos?
I use www.irfanview.com
its very simple program you download for free. it has preset sizes to choose from or you can put your own size in .640x480 is what i use and im not sure max pixel size allowed here open irfanview you can either drag you picture into it or.. click FILE open then select where the file is(documents/folder/etc) select picture (it will give you a small preview to make sure you selected the correct picture) click open ............ to resize click IMAGE resize/sample and select your size CLICK OK then FILE save as done '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' you have an option so every pic you have will have a built in picture editor .................... under OPTIONS set file association select which type files you want irfanview to open click OK i just use it for pictures... jpg/jp2 and you can always undo it if you want jeff Last edited by jef5150; 09-07-2008 at 10:45 PM. Re: Posting Photos?
OR host your photos on photobucket, check the box next to the picture(s), then click "generate tags" at the bottom of the page. It will give you the proper BBcode thumbnail tags, so just copy and paste - good if you don't want to add another program to your desktop.

![]() The thing i like about irfanview is you run the program once, set file association then every picture has a built in editor. You can keep the program/exe file in documents/c/.anywhere. Everytime you open a picture it looks like this, and only the picture is posted not the editor jeff ![]() |

Re: Posting Photos?
All files you want to attach need to be 100KB or less in size except for a .jpg which can be 109.8KB or less or a .pdf which can be 178.1KB or less.
There also is a max width specified for pictues and it is 642. I don't know what units those 642 are in but that is the max width. I have irfanview but I don't like it as much as photoshop. Irfanview when you resize gets 'pixely' where if you resize in photoshop it doesn't look funny. Open your picture in photoshop, irfanview, paint or whatever and resize it. Let the computer scale it to the proper height verses width. Then save it. Look in exploder or whatever OS you are running to see how big the new file is. If it is under 100KB you're good to go. If it ain't there yet shrink it some more. When saving a .jpg in Photoshop you can specify quality on a scale from 1-10. 10 is best quality (larger file) 1 is low quality. I usually pick 6 for this site.

Re: Posting Photos?
I think these guys really answered all of your questions, but just in case (and if any of you need it for future reference for others).
