Re: Another Blower Install
Today I was finally able to finish and take the truck for a drive. I decided to go with Mallory's NEW Maxfire electronic dizzy w/ boost reference. Set initial timing at 16* w/ total at 34*. This dizzy is programmable so I set it retard 1.5*/ # of boost. So drive at part throttle felt great and everything seemed ok. Decided to take it up a bit and BOOM then the engine died. When I opened the hood I found the dizzy cap had blown apart. after talking to Mallory techs they said that this has happened before and the cause was a loose hose connection within the dizzy from the factory and under boost the dizzy pressurized. This really ruined my day.

Re: Another Blower Install
Looks pretty impressive. Bet that gave you a real scare when the distributor damage happened!

Re: Another Blower Install
I am also thinking of that blower. Do you have a part# for the dizzy and what pistons does your motor have?
